Sedona Sherman has signed to play volleyball at University of the Pacific.

Sherman is a 6-3 middle blocker out of Millennium High School in Goodyear, Arizona. She has helped the Tigers to a stellar 45-1 record this past season and a Division II 5A Conference State Championship. The all-region player had a .393 hitting percentage, 88 blocks, and 45 services aces. Among all players in the Desert West Conference Sherman ranks first in hitting percentage and blocks.

Academically, Sherman has made the dean's list every semester and holds a 3.6 GPA and is a member of her high school’s National Honors Society.

"Sedona is a great addition to our program, both on and off of the court," Pacific head coach Greg Gibbons said. "She plays at a very high level and is very physical and thrives on competing. She fits our culture and system of play and we are very excited to welcome her to Pacific."

BOYS BASKETBALL

At Stagg, Kenyon Pierce and Jason Phillips had 14 points each to lead the Delta Kings (3-4). Robert Lunha had 18 points for Riverbank (3-2) and Gilberto Jimenez had 15.

Mountain House 78, Kimball 74

At Tracy, Keenam Maggard had 41 points to lead the Mustangs (2-2), and Nick Daluyot had 12. Kainoa Ballungay had 32 points for the Jaguars (3-3).

Stockton Christian 78, Tioga 55

At Groveland, Jay Araya had 30 points to lead the Eagles (5-0). Zane Rodriguez had 16 and Tim Barber had 14 for Stockton Christian.

Granite Bay 56, St. Mary's 55

At Granite Bay, the Rams are 3-2 after the close loss. The Grizzlies are 3-3.

At Groveland, Kadyn Pieters had a double-double for the Eagles (5-0), with 25 points and 12 rebounds Jaylynn Araya had 24 points for Stockton Christian.

At Franklin, goalkeeper Angel Saldana had six saves for Venture Academy (2-2).
