The Pacific men’s soccer team will be back home this weekend at Knoles Field, where the Tigers will be in search of their first win in conference play.
Pacific (6-3-2, 0-1-0 West Coast Conference) hosts Santa Clara (4-6-1, 0-1-0 WCC) at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, with the Tigers hoping to rebound from last week’s 4-0 loss to No. 9 Saint Mary’s at home.
The Tigers have six matches left in the season, all against conference opponents. After Saint Mary’s, Pacific will still have matchups against No. 7 Portland and San Francisco, the defending WCC champs.
Junior forward Jonathan Jimenez will lead the way into the weekend for Pacific, with his 11 points serving as the best on the team and his four goals and four assists each being tied for first among the Tigers.
Lincoln 227, St. Mary’s 257
At Brookside Country Club, St. Mary’s Skyler May and Lincoln’s Anitra Khoth each shot a 1-over par 37, but the Trojans (9-1) got the win over the Rams (8-2) in a Tri-City Athletic League matchup.
GIRLS WATER POLO
McNair 16, Franklin 4
At Franklin, Karla Garcia had four goals and the pair of Leilani Jones and Angelica Tejeda had three each to lead the Eagles (11-6, 4-1 San Joaquin Athletic Association) past Franklin.
Maria Aguilar had two goals for the Yellowjackets (0-16, 0-5 SJAA).
BOYS WATER POLO
Franklin 21, McNair 9
At Franklin, Brian Withers and Avran Monarrez each scored six times and Tristan Fosgate had five to lead the Yellowjackets (12-7, 3-2 San Joaquin Athletic Association) to a win over McNair.
For the Eagles (5-12, 2-3 SJAA), Shane Dawson scored four times and Jake Dorman had three.
Linden 3, Vacaville Christian 1
At Vacaville Christian, the Lions won by scores of 25-22, 29-27, 15-25, 25-19. Anna Lucostic had 18 assists and four aces for Linden (13-4, 9-0 Sierra Delta League), and Kaley Dosier had eight kills and two blocks.
Gabby Herrera also had 22 digs for the Lions.
Bear Creek 3, Stagg 0
At Bear Creek, Deyliana Lewis had eight kills and Kendyl Amodo had 15 assists as the Bruins (15-9, 8-0 San Joaquin Athletic Association) won by scores of 25-15, 15-6, 25-10.
