The Stockton Ports began their road trip Friday night in Modesto, riding a three-run fifth inning to a 4-2 win over the host Nuts.
Nate Mondou went 2 for 4 with a double in the win for Stockton (57-36), with Luis Barrera adding a pair of hits and Chase Calabuig delivering a double of his own.
Kyle Friedrichs threw six innings for the Ports, allowing one run on five hits while striking out five with one walk allowed. Pat Krall threw two innings of relief, allowing one run along the way as he bridged the gap to Sam Sheehan.
