Just because the 2018 college baseball season is over doesn’t mean players from University of the Pacific are taking it easy.

Nineteen Tigers are in different parts of the county playing on summer league teams, ranging from California, Alaska, the historic Cape Cod League, among others.

Here is a list of Pacific players who are in action on a summer league team:

Alaska Baseball League — Bryce Kirk, sophomore catcher, and Lucas Sweany, sophomore pitcher, Alaska Goldpanners of Fairbanks.

California Collegiate Baseball League — Keaton Glover, junior outfielder, Carter Hayes, junior infielder, and Hunter Konecky-Pena, redshirt sophomore infielder, Ventura County Pirates; Kevin Sandri, senior infielder, Henrink Reinertsen, sophomore pitcher, and Ryan Shreve, sophomore pitcher, Healdsburg Prune Packers; Bradley Jekich, senior outfielder, and Hayden Pearce, sophomore pitcher, Orange County Riptide; Alex LeForestier, sophomore infielder, Arroyo Seco Saints; Tyler Ryan, senior utility, Conejo Oaks.

Cape Cod League — James Free, junior catcher, Orleans Firebirds.

Great West League — Samson Abernathy, senior pitcher, Chico Heat.

Far West League — Nathan Verlin, senior pitcher, Humboldt Crabs.

Independent Baseball — Wyatt Hoffman, sophomore infielder, TB SoCal.

M.I.N.K. Collegiate Summer League — Charlie Johnson, sophomore infielder, Clarinda A’s.

New England Collegiate League — Ricky Reynoso, senior pitcher, Valley Blue Sox.

West Coast League — Joe Solomon, sophomore pitcher, Cowlitz Black Bears.


Dirt Track show

The Rolling Thunder motorcycle dirt track show takes place at the half-mile dirt track at the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds on Saturday.

The event is hosted by the Lodi Motorcycle Club in conjunction with the San Joaquin County Fair. Featured are an amateur AMA District 36 dirt track race ranging from Pee Wees on 50cc bikes up to the Open Pro class.

Gates open at 2 p.m., practice is at 3:30 p.m., followed by racing at 5 p.m.
