Kansas held off a strong finish by Stanford to win the NCAA Division I Regional.

But the Jayhawks, Cardinal and three other teams are all headed to the 2018 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships.

Stanford shot a final-round best 277, but were edged by Kansas 844-845 on Wednesday at The Reserve at Spanos Park. Kansas, Stanford, Iowa State (847), Alabama (849) and Oregon (852) will compete in the finals May 25-30 at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

The Jayhawks were steady in Stockton, going 281-282-281—844.

“It was a total team effort. That’s what it takes,” Kansas coach Jamie Bermel said. “It seemed like this was the first time all year that we didn’t have at least one guy that was a little off. Everybody shot at least even par.”

Norman Xiong of Oregon was the top individual, shooting 68-67-66—201.
