The Delta College softball team's trip to Pleasant Hill was pleasant and surprisingly easy.

The Mustangs pounded Diablo Valley 9-0 on Tuesday in a Big 8 Conference matchup. The Vikings (11-4, 3-1) had won three in a row and are in no way an easy mark.

"That's a very good team. It was just one of those days," Delta coach Jim Fisher said. "We really hit the ball."

Taylor Ward went 2 for 3 with two homers and four RBI for the first-place Mustangs (10-8, 5-0 Big 8). Tawny Deerinck went 2 for 3 with two-run homer and Sam Martinez went 2 for 3 with a double and three RBI. Marissa Espinoza threw a two hitter for Delta.

COLLEGE BASEBALL

Delta 8, Folsom Lake 3

At Folsom, Cameron Schubert went 2 for 4 with a home run for the Mustangs (16-2, 3-1 Big 8).

Zack Mathis went 2 for 5 with a double and three RBI, and Dominick Pisano went 2 for 42 -4 with a double for Delta.

HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL

Lincoln 7, Jesuit 2

At Lincoln, Sam Bones went five innings for the win, while striking out five and allowing one unearned run for the Trojans (2-1). He also contributed a two-run double. Nikko Dowd went 2 for 3, Connor Westphal had a double and three RBI and Alexander Low went 2 for 2 with two RBI for Lincoln.

Christian Brothers 2, Bear Creek 0

At Sacramento, Nathan Morris had a double for the Bruins (1-1). Christian Brothers is 1-0.

Stagg 8, Calaveras 2

At Stagg (1-2), Matt Vochatzer went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs while Beto Torres went 2 for 3 in the Delta Kings’ win over Calaveras.

Big Valley Christian 1

At Stockton, Dylan Enriquez singled in the winning run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh innings for the Mustangs (4-1, 1-0 CCAA). Enriquez was 2 for 3 with a triple, and Chris Tabin, who scored the winning run, was 3 for 3 with a double. Dylan Hodges threw a complete game for Venture Academy, giving up five hits and striking out 11.

Franklin 26, Weston Ranch 4

At Franklin, Selena Perez went 3 for 3 with three doubles and two RBI for the Yellowjackets (2-1). Sydney Peterson went 2 for 3 with a double, home run and four RBI, Alize Salmeron went 3 for 3 with a double and RBI, Crisol Maya went 2 for 2 with three RBI, and Ilena Espino went 2 for 5, with two doubles and an RBI for Franklin. Jocelyn Lamerios went 3 for 3 with three doubles for the Cougars (0-1).

Chavez 6, Galt 4

At Chavez, Leslie Mayes went 3 for 4 and Audrinah Covarrubias added a pair of hits as the Titans (1-1) beat Galt.

Clayton Valley Charter 15, Lincoln 2

At Lincoln, Matthew Hoak and Matthew Nakamura both scored and Ben Gildea added an assist in a loss for Lincoln (7-1).
