STOCKTON — The couple who were found dead Saturday in their northeast Stockton home in an apparent murder-suicide by gunfire have been identified as Robert Baumbach, 68, and Sheila Baumbach, 62, the San Joaquin County Coroner’s Office reported.

A family member believed to be one of the couple’s children found them deceased about 6 p.m. in their home in the 2500 block of Pemberton Court, a short residential street south of East Morada Lane and east of West Lane, Stockton police reported.

The preliminary investigation points to the wife shooting her husband, then herself, according to police.
