STOCKTON — Rosie Sugabo, 69, of Stockton was identified by the San Joaquin County Coroner’s Office as the woman who was killed during a mass shooting just south of downtown Stockton on Friday.
Police reported Monday that the man suspected of shooting Sugabo and two other women during an apparent family disturbance last week before turning the gun on himself died at an area hospital. He was identified as Rene Siano, 48, of Stockton.
The shooting occurred about 2:30 p.m. Friday inside a home in the 500 block of South Sutter Street, between East Church Street and East Hazelton Avenue, police reported.
When officers arrived, they found four people in the home suffering from gunshot wounds. Sugabo was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
Two other victims, a 46-year-old woman and a 47-year-old woman, were transported to an area hospital. Their conditions have not been reported, but they are expected to survive.
Siano was transported to an area hospital for a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was listed in critical condition until he died Monday, according to police.
Homicide detectives are investigating the incident and, as of Monday afternoon, there is no additional information to report regarding a possible motive for the shooting or the relationships between the women and the man.
