There were 80 bookings at the San Joaquin County Jail in the 24 hours ending at 8 a.m. Saturday. At that time, there were 1,339 people held at the jail, which has a total capacity of 1,550. When the jail is full, some inmates may be released early.
Weapons arrest: Officers responded to a disturbance in the 600 block of West Longview Avenue at 1:50 a.m. Saturday, and upon arrival saw someone running away and hiding behind a car. Witnesses told officers the runner was armed with a gun. Officers detained the man and found a loaded handgun under the car, police said. Joshua Tuimavave, 26, was arrested on suspicion of weapons charges.
Robbery: A boy was walking home from school in the area of Clay and Lincoln streets at 3:50 p.m. Friday when four boys approached. One of the boys put a gun to the victim’s side, took his cellphone and gave it to one of his companions. All four assailants then fled the area, police said.
The Stockton Fire Department did not provide a report of its calls for service Saturday.
