There were 52 bookings at the San Joaquin County Jail in the 24 hours ending at 8 a.m. Monday. At that time, there were 1,321 people held at the jail, which has an official capacity of 1,550. When the jail is full, some inmates may be released early.

Stockton Police

Robbery: Four 15-year-old boys went to Holiday Park in the 600 block of Elaine Drive about 2:30 p.m. Sunday where two of the boys beat up the other two and attempted to steal their shoes. The assailants did not get the shoes, but they did steal some of the victims’ property before fleeing from the park. The assailants are known to the victims.

Assault with deadly weapon: A man used a piece of lumber to hit a woman on the head, arms and legs while she sat in his pickup truck behind the 1500 block of Pacific Avenue about 4 p.m. Sunday. The woman was able to escape and call police. The extent of her injuries was not reported. The alleged assailant was identified as Derek Walrath, 56, driving a white pickup with a camper shell.

Gun arrests: Officers stopped a vehicle for an unspecified traffic violation at North Sierra Nevada and East Park streets about 4:45 p.m. Sunday. One of the occupants fled but was captured quickly after a short foot pursuit. Officers found a discarded firearm nearby and another one of the vehicle’s occupants was alleged to be in possession of suspected narcotics. Officers arrested Justin Patterson, 19, on suspicion of weapon and narcotics charges and Vernon Henderson, 21, on suspicion of weapon charges.

Robbery: As a man walked out of a business in the 700 block of East Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard about 8 p.m. Sunday, two males approached him. One asked for a cigarette as the other began hitting the victim before both took the victim’s property and fled the area. The victim was not reported injured.

The Stockton Fire Department responded to 110 calls for service in the 24 hours ending at 8 a.m. Monday, including five vehicle accidents, 77 medical calls and two structure fires.
