There were 72 bookings at the San Joaquin County Jail in the 24 hours ending at 8 a.m. Saturday. At that time, there were 1,294 people held at the jail, which has a total capacity of 1,550. When the jail is full, some inmates may be released early.

Stockton Police

Robbery: A man entered a business in the 8000 block of North West Lane at 10:10 a.m. Saturday, grabbed some clothing items and walked toward the exit. When an employee tried to stop him, he pulled a knife and opened the blade, police said. Arriving officers arrested Jonathan Carney, 31, on suspicion of robbery as he left the store.

Stabbing: Officers responded to the report of a stabbing in the 6400 block of West Lane at 3:47 a.m. Friday. Upon arrival, they found a person suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening wounds.

Stockton Fire

The Stockton Fire Department responded to 179 calls for service in the 24 hours ending at 8 a.m. Saturday, including 114 medical calls, nine vehicle accidents, five structure fires, three grass fires and one vehicle fire.
