STOCKTON — Five siblings between 4 and 16 years old who had been missing since Saturday have been located safe at a hotel in El Cerrito by Richmond police, the Stockton Police Department reported early Wednesday morning. The five are in protective custody, according to Stockton police.

The children — two boys and three girls — were believed to have fled a home in central Stockton where they were living in temporary foster care, according to police spokesman Officer Joe Silva. They took most of their personal belongings with them.

The children are boys ages 16 and 4, and girls ages 14, 5 and 4. The two 4-year-olds are not twins, according to police.

Officials didn’t say how the children traveled from Stockton to El Cerrito.
