There were 71 bookings at the San Joaquin County Jail in the 24 hours ending at 8 a.m. Thursday. At that time, there were 1,297 people held at the jail, which has an official capacity of 1,550. When the jail is full, some inmates may be released early.
Assault with a deadly weapon: Police arrested a woman who attacked her co-worker about 10 p.m. Tuesday in the 3000 block of East Morada Lane. Rebecca Heal, 30, was having dinner with a co-worker when they got into an argument. Heal threw a glass at the victim, but it missed her and shattered. Heal then picked up broken glass and used it to stab the victim. The victim sought medical attention at a hospital the following day. Heal, who also was at the hospital, was taken into custody.
Robbery: Two people who arranged to meet a girl to sell her something were instead robbed. The victims met the robber about 7:57 p.m. Wednesday in the 2000 block of Napa River Drive. The girl then grabbed an undisclosed item from one of the victims’ hands and sprayed them with some unknown liquid. The girl ran away from the scene.
Robbery: A 60-year-old man was stabbed during a robbery near Poplar and Commerce streets. The victim was walking home after a night of drinking when he heard someone behind him and felt pain to the side of his body. When the victim fell, an unknown person went through his pockets. The victim went home and realized the next morning that he had been stabbed. The victim went to a hospital to be treated. Police did not say what time or when the incident happened.
Robbery: Alfred Vaughn, 29, was arrested on suspicion of robbery after he tried to steal from a business about 12 p.m. Thursday in the 100 block of West March Lane. Vaughn was stopped by a citizen who intervened outside of the store after the suspect punched an employee who tried to confront him. Vaughn was held until officers arrived. The employee suffered scratches but refused medical attention.
The Stockton Fire Department responded to 139 calls for service in the 24 hours ending at 8 a.m. Thursday, including 10 vehicle accidents, 103 medical calls and one structure fire.
