STOCKTON — An Edison High School head wrestling coach has been placed on paid administrative leave.

Nick Harris, 30, confirmed he was suspended but could not provide specifics on the situation.

A Stockton Unified School District official confirmed they are investigating an Edison High wrestling coach but declined to identify that coach as Harris. The official also declined to discuss any specifics, stating only that the investigation is ongoing.

Reached Saturday, Edison High Athletic director Richie Lynch also declined comment.

Harris also coaches for the Port City Wrestling Club based in Stockton, a youth wrestling program for children ages 8-18 years old that is not affiliated with SUSD.

“I’ve been coaching on and off from California to North Carolina and Texas for 10 years and have never had a single complaint,” Harris said.

No timetable given as to when the investigation would be complete.
