STOCKTON — A French Camp man was arrested at San Joaquin Delta College on Friday morning after allegedly grabbing a woman’s behind and forcing her onto him.

Campus police were alerted at around 10:54 a.m. of the incident inside Danner Hall when the woman, who is a student, was approached by a male student and both exchanged in a brief conversation.

Soon afterward, officers said, the man reportedly grabbed the woman and pulled her into him. From there, he grabbed her buttocks while using his body to rub up against her inappropriately.

The victim was able to get away, ran out of the lounge area and was screaming for help, authorities said.

Delta College employees came to her aid and were able to quickly locate and identify the man as 22-year-old Salvador Martinez.

Martinez was processed and taken to San Joaquin County Jail on suspicion of misdemeanor charge of sexual battery where bail was set to $5,000. Delta College officials said he will be referred through the administrative disciplinary process.

Martinez is scheduled to appear in Stockton court at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
