Ceremony will honor 9/11 victims, first responders

Veterans of Foreign Wars, Luneta Post 52 will host a ceremony at 11 a.m. Tuesday to remember those killed in the 9/11 terrorist attacks and honor first responders for their service to the community.

The ceremony will be held in front of VFW Post 52, located in Stockton Memorial Civic Auditorium, 513 N. Center St., with post commander Sam Pachuca officiating.

Guest speakers will include representatives from the Stockton Police Department, EMT, San Joaquin County Sheriff’s office and Stockton Fire Department. Franklin School ROTC will present and retrieve the colors.

Post 52 Color Guards will perform a gun salute in memory of all those killed in the attacks, followed by TAPS. This event is open to the public. For more information, contact Post 52 at (209-941-8391)

Post 52 and its auxiliary members will distribute treats to first responders earlier in the morning on 9/11.
