STOCKTON — A potential carjacking by two masked males — one armed with a gun — was thwarted Saturday night in north Stockton by a pedestrian approaching the scene, police reported.

The incident was reported about 9:40 p.m. in the 8000 block of Thornton Road, just north of West Hammer Lane.

A woman was sitting in her vehicle when the two males, wearing ski masks, appeared and broke her front passenger window. As one pointed a black handgun at the woman and ordered her to get out, the masked males noticed someone walking toward them and ran off, according to police.

The woman was not reported injured and no property was reported stolen.
