STOCKTON — Authorities arrested a Sacramento man early Saturday after he was seen driving the wrong way on Highway 99.
The Stockton-area California Highway Patrol witnessed a Honda going the wrong way in the northbound lanes south of the Crosstown Freeway at 9:10 a.m.
According to the CHP, the vehicle was using both No. 2 and No. 3 lanes, causing other vehicles to get out of the way. One vehicle almost collided head-on with a big rig, but no one was injured, officers said.
After a chase, the CHP was able to stop and arrest 45-year-old Ravinder Singh Chanal of Sacramento. He was determined to be suspected of driving under the influence and was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
