There were 91 bookings at the San Joaquin County Jail in the 24 hours ending at 8 a.m. Saturday. At that time, there were 1,300 people held at the jail, which has an official capacity of 1,550. When the jail is full, some inmates may be released early.

Stockton Police

Robbery: A man sitting in his vehicle at 10 p.m. Friday in the 1300 block of Pinetree Drive was confronted by another man who brandished a black semi-automatic handgun and demanded money. The victim complied and the robber, described as wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black plants, got away in an unknown direction.

DUI checkpoint: Officers conducted a DUI checkpoint in the westbound lanes of Hammer Lane at El Dorado Street between 5 p.m. Friday and 1 a.m. Saturday. Of the 1,218 vehicles that passed, one driver was arrested for DUI; three drivers were evaluated for suspected DUI; 12 citations were issued and four vehicles were impounded.

Manteca Police

Weapon arrest: Authorities were alerted to a person firing a gun from a vehicle near the 700 block of North Main Street at 3:20 p.m. on Thursday. The shooter was not said to be aiming at any particular person or vehicle. On Friday, investigators served a search warrant at a residence in Stockton and found 34-year-old Julio Cesar Mena and arrested him on several weapon-related charges.

The Stockton Fire Department responded to 151 calls for service in the 24 hours ending at 8 a.m. Saturday, including 11 vehicle accidents, 111 medical calls and one structure fire.
