There were 71 bookings at the San Joaquin County Jail in the 24 hours ending at 8 a.m. Friday. At that time, there were 1,277 people held at the jail, which has a total capacity of 1,665. When the jail is full, some inmates may be released early.

Stockton Police

Auto theft: Officers located a stolen vehicle in the area of West Worth and South Van Buren streets at 7:17 p.m. Thursday. The vehicle was stopped and the occupants were arrested without incident, police said. Mohammed Lateef, 18, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle, and a 14-year-old male was released to his parents.

Robbery: A man entered a store in the 1000 block of North Wilson Way at 1:55 p.m. Thursday, grabbed some items and attempted to leave without paying. As he tried to exit, the manager confronted him and demand he return the items. The robber pushed the manager, then fled in a white sport utility vehicle with a woman.

Carjacking: A woman allowed another woman to place some items in her white 1997 Ford Thunderbird at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the 400 block of South Harrison Street. A short while later, the victim saw the woman driving her car and realized she left the keys in it, police said. The victim confronted the woman, who brandished a gun and told her to back away. Officers are seeking 40-year-old Latrice Byers in connection with the incident, police said.

The Stockton Fire Department responded to 124 calls for service in the 24 hours ending at 8 a.m. Friday, including 80 medical calls, six grass fires, two structure fires, and six vehicle accidents.
