MANTECA — Investigators from the Manteca Police Department are asking for the public’s help in identifying a group of men who burglarized an elementary school over the weekend.

Police said that five people broke into Stella Brockman School, located at 763 Silverado Drive, at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

The burglars were captured on school security footage outside a classroom and appear to be young men. In one frame, there are four men outside the classroom, and another off to one side with just a foot exposed on video.

Police were releasing few details about how the men made their way into the room, what was taken, the value of what was taken or how many rooms the group burglarized.

“We don’t want to compromise our investigation or create other issues for the school and the district,” Sgt. Mike Aguilar said Wednesday. “We don’t want others to see this and try to commit a copy-cat or similar crime.”

Aguilar is asking anyone with information about the incident or those involved to call the Manteca Police Department at (209) 456-8101.
