Suspect in disturbance strikes officer during arrest

STOCKTON — Officers responded to a family disturbance in the 8900 of Valleyoak Drive at 11:33 a.m. Tuesday.

According to police, an adult male was beating his mother at the location. Arriving officers contacted the man, and as they attempted to arrest him, he struck one of the officers in the face, police said. Officers used a stun gun to detain him, police said. Blake Ethier, 21, was arrested on suspicion of battery, battery on an officer and resisting arrest.

Teen arrested after suspected shootout

STOCKTON — Officers responded to a report of shots being fired in the 1600 block of Julian Street at 6:27 p.m. Monday.

Upon arrival, officers located a man believed to be involved in the incident sitting in a parked vehicle in the area, police said.

During the investigation, officers found evidence that suggested a shootout had occurred between at least two parties, police said. A gun also was found at the scene belonging to one of the parties involved, police said.

In addition, officers determined the man they contacted on scene had his infant daughter with him at the time of the shooting, police said. Officers arrested a 17-year-old male on suspicion of child endangerment and weapons charges.
