LODI — Detectives are investigating a shooting Tuesday night that left a 23-year-old man dead and another person injured.

Lodi police said officers heard gunshots about 10 p.m. near East Lockeford and North Sacramento streets. They determined a shooting happened in front of a home in the 400 block of North Sacramento Street.

Officers found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds at the scene, Lodi police reported. One person was unresponsive and lifesaving measures were started at the scene, but he was pronounced dead by medics.

The victim’s name has not been released pending identification and notification of next of kin.

Police said a 20-year-old man suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was taken to a hospital.

Investigators have processed the scene and have been looking for people who may have witnesses the shooting. The investigating in ongoing and no more details were provided.

This is the second homicide in Lodi in the past four days.

On Friday, a 31-year-old man was shot and killed in the 700 block of West Vine Street. Lodi police announced on Monday that a 17-year-old boy from Woodbridge was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting.
