STOCKTON — A new dean has been selected to head University of Pacific’s Eberhardt School of Business.

Pacific announced Monday that Tim Carroll, currently serving as associate dean for executive development at the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina, was named the new dean.

Carroll’s first day will be July 1.

“I am delighted that Tim will be joining Pacific,” Maria Pallavicini, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs, said in a statement. “He is an energetic and visionary leader who will work with our faculty to position the Eberhardt School of Business for a strong future.”

During his tenure at the University of South Carolina, Carroll also served as president of Corporate Solutions LLC, the private arm of their business school, and director of the professional MBA program.

He joined the faculty at South Carolina as an assistant professor of management.

Carroll led the opening of the university’s Charlotte campus and significantly expanded the number of concentration areas in the professional MBA program, Pallavicini said.

“It will be an honor to join the talented and dedicated faculty and staff at the Eberhardt School of Business and to support their mission of developing knowledgeable, innovative business leaders in a personalized, experience-based learning environment,” Carroll said.

Prior to his tenure at University of South Carolina, Carroll served as an assistant professor of strategic management at the Georgia Institute of Technology and worked as a director and consultant in the health and telecommunications business sectors.

He holds a doctorate in management from Duke University, as well as an MBA with a concentration in international business and master of arts in Latin American studies, both from the University of New Mexico.
