There were 76 bookings at the San Joaquin County Jail in the 24 hours ending at 8 a.m. Monday. At that time, there were 1,280 people held at the jail, which has an official capacity of 1,665. When the jail is full, some inmates may be released early.
Robbery: Two people were sitting in a car in the 1700 block of South Sutter Street about 3:10 p.m. Sunday when an armed robber brandished a handgun at them and demanded their valuables. The victims turned over unspecified property and then drove away as the robber — a man in his 20s — began running westbound on East Fourth Street.
Assault with deadly weapon arrest: About 12:45 a.m. Monday, officers found the victim of an assault in the 1100 block of Waterloo Road who was suffering from multiple cuts to the head. The victim was transported to an area hospital and was listed in critical but stable condition. Responding officers found Brian Martin, 44, nearby and, upon further investigation, determined he was allegedly responsible. Martin was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
The Stockton Fire Department responded to 136 calls for service in the 24 hours ending at 8 a.m. Monday, including nine vehicle accidents, 99 medical calls and two structure fires.
