STOCKTON — A 14-year-old girl selling candy in the 2600 block of Keyer Drive at 7:20 p.m. Sunday was attacked by one of her potential customers, police reported.

A man grabbed the girl selling candy, pulled her into his residence, and tried to remove her clothes.

She screamed and struggled, and her sister came into the room and yelled at the man, police said. That allowed the girl to break free and leave.

Officers went to the residence and arrested Unique Newton, 24, on suspicion of attempted rape and kidnapping.
