Batman Day at Barnes & Noble

Barnes & Noble Weberstown, 4950 Pacific Ave., will celebrate all things Batman from 2-6 p.m. Saturday. Activities include story time, hosted by Batman and Catwoman, a Batman trivial tournament, coloring and a LEGO station. Also, “Batman No. 1” comic books, supplied by DC Comics, will be given away while supplies last.

The event is hosted by Read to Me, Stockton.

Writer’s workshop

San Joaquin County children’s authors Katie A. Nelson, Margaret Baker-Street and Jennifer Torres Siders will speak about writing for children at the final Writers’ Toolbox workshop beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday.

The free event at the First Unitarian Church, 2737 Pacific Ave., will include a question-and-answer session.

The Writers’ Toolbox series is sponsored by the Marion Jacobs Literary Forum, the Stockton Arts Foundation, Tuleburg Press, and the Heritage Writers’ Community. Paula Sheil of Tuleburg Press will be the moderator.

Sunday Sundaes

The annual event at University of the Pacific, featuring a children’s author and free ice cream sundaes, features local author Catherine Lagorio, who wrote about Steve in “The Dropped-Off Dog.”

Lagorio will share her story and book beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Benerd School of Education, at Kensington and Dave Brubeck ways.

Admission is free.
