STOCKTON — A Weston Ranch woman might have been killed by an assailant Wednesday afternoon if not for her husband showing up during the attack, police reported.
About 4:20 p.m., a man showed up at the victim’s home in the 1200 block of Little Hale Place, a residential street off E.W.S. Woods Boulevard, and confronted the woman for undisclosed reasons. He grabbed an electrical cord and tried to strangle the woman but she got the cord off her neck, according to a report.
The man pushed the victim down and slammed her head into the floor, just as her husband arrived, the report said, and the man fled the scene in a vehicle.
Police arrested Armando Rodriguez, 38, on suspicion of attempted homicide.
The woman’s injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, according to police.
