Police describe potential kidnapper

STOCKTON — Police provided a description of a man who might have tried to abduct a young girl Wednesday morning in central Stockton.

The man approached the girl while she was walking to school about 8 a.m. in the 1800 block of East Bianchi Road near Rio Calaveras Elementary School, authorities said. The man made several attempts to lure the girl away with him, police said. The man persisted even after several refusals, so the girl crossed the street and walked to school without looking back, officers said.

The man was described as bald, black, 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet 11 inches tall and 200 pounds with brown eyes, a blue shirt over a long-sleeve white shirt and blue jeans, police said.
