Enjoy a tamale meal and help provide food baskets for families in need at El Concilio’s annual tamale dinner fundraiser. Each meal includes two tamales, rice, beans and salad. There’s a lunch drive-thru or a dinner with free entertainment.

2. It’s a Major Award
Friends of the Fox presents the beloved 1983 classic about young Ralphie and his quest for a Red Ryder BB gun as part of the Classic Movie Series. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there for pictures and there will be performances by the Stockton Portsmen Barbershop Chorus and organist Dave Moreno.
What: Friends of the Fox screen the 1983 holiday classic, “A Christmas Story,” starring Peter Billingsley, Darren McGavin and Melinda Dillon.
When: 2 p.m. Sunday with doors open at 1 p.m.

3. Celebrate the season at the zoo
The Micke Grove Zoological Society presents the annual Zoo Lights event featuring games, crafts, entertainment, pictures with Santa and more.

When: 5-8 p.m. Friday-Sunday and Dec. 14-16.

4. Head to the North Pole
Take a ride on the Polar Express with the Stockton Figure Skating Club where the skaters will transport you to the North Pole to experience the wonder and magic of the season. The evening includes a visit from Santa and more. Plus, don’t forget to wear your pajamas!

5. You've got friend at movie night
Wear your favorite holiday sweater and spend the evening with Woody, the good-hearted cowboy doll, and Buzz Lightyear, the action figure that thinks he’s a real spaceman, at Family Friday Movie Night.
