Paul Kimball and Dominee Muller-Kimball, the husband-and-wife educators who have contributed to music and theater in the region for many years, were announced as the winners of the 39th Star Award by the awards committee of the Stockton Arts Commission.
The pair will be honored at a ceremony on Oct. 27 at the Stockton Memorial Civic Auditorium. The award were previously given annually, but since 2015 have been awarded biannually.
Paul Kimball has worked for Lincoln Unified School District for more than 30 years and currently directs the choirs at Lincoln High School and Sierra Middle School. He also is the conductor of the Zion Chamber Orchestra and Choir and for years was a French horn player in the Stockton Symphony.
Muller-Kimball, who taught high school drama, like her late father, All Muller, is currently principal of two Lodi Unified School District middle schools. She also is president of the Stockton Civic Theatre board of directors and has served as the director of its summer youth program.
